The MAXXIS Minion DHR II has been a renowned tyre in the gravity sector for many years and is designed for versatile use on trails, enduro rides and in bike parks. The supported side knobs offer high lateral support in aggressive bends, while transverse centre knobs are designed for maximum braking traction.
The open tread pattern is designed for dry and loose surfaces as well as technical trails and is intended to provide predictable riding behaviour even in changing conditions. Depending on the bike set-up, the Minion DHR II is suitable both as a rear tyre with high braking traction and as a front tyre for aggressive trail and gravity use.
In this version, the Minion DHR II combines the particularly robust DoubleDown casing with the further developed MaxxTerra rubber compound for enduro and downhill use. The dual-ply casing combines high stability and increased puncture protection with a lower weight than classic downhill constructions, while the rubber compound offers high grip, efficient rolling behaviour and optimised mileage.
Technologies:
• DoubleDown Casing [DD]
DoubleDown is a tyre construction from MAXXIS with two 120-TPI casing plies and an additional butyl insert in the sidewalls. The construction is based on the MAXXIS downhill tyres with 60-TPI casing, but the finer casing plies and aramid bead cores are intended to save weight compared to classic downhill constructions. What’s more, the construction is more robust than EXO+ Protection and is designed for additional stability and increased puncture protection for tough enduro use.
• MaxxTerra
MaxxTerra is a single-compound rubber compound from MAXXIS for trail and enduro use. The consistent development of the proven 3C MaxxTerra compound is intended to offer more grip and a longer tread life while maintaining low rolling resistance. The compound thus combines efficient rolling behaviour with high traction on the trail.
• TUBELESS READY [TR]
In the MAXXIS range, Tubeless Ready [TR] refers to tyres with a construction that is designed for tubeless use with a sealant, a compatible tubeless rim or matching rim tape. The system enables lower air pressures and is intended to improve traction and ride quality, while reducing the rolling resistance. In addition, minor damages can be sealed directly by the sealant, which reduces the risk of breakdowns.
