The bythlon system pedal is not a classic clipless pedal, as there is no fixed connection between the shoe and the pedal body. The developers of bythlon achieve a positive-locking fit between the sole plate and pedal with the sophisticated connection system in order to efficiently transfer muscle power to the drivetrain. However, the pedal linking is intuitively released when necessary by pulling the foot up vertically, i. e. without turning it out sideways. This can prevent falls in the event of an unexpected stop.
For a better grip, two curved connecting elements of the cleat engage with the corresponding openings of the bythlon pedal. This is possible on both sides of the pedal. The minimal lateral rotation gives the shoe a certain amount of freedom of movement to find the optimum foot position. The cleats fit standard road bike shoes with a 3-bolt connection. However, the pedal can also be used without cleats, i. e. with normal road shoes.
The bythlon pedal from by,schulz offers a strong grip for excellent performance and at the same time gives you the security of being able to remove your foot from the pedal and reattach it at any time.
