Installing the Range Extender

If you use the Bosch Range Extender to give your bike extra range, proper installation is crucial. Improper installation can cause it to collide with the damper, resulting in damage.

These instructions show you how to properly install the Bosch Range Extender on your bike and ensure safe and trouble-free use.

• Torque wrench with bits

There are a total of four threaded eyelets on the down tube of the frame for attaching a range extender, a bottle cage, or a lock. 

Please observe the torque of 2 Nm!

The range extender bracket should only be attached to the threaded eyelets 1 and 3.

The range extender's holder has slotted holes. The exact positioning is not important, as long as the holder is mounted on threaded eyelets 1 and 3.

This positioning of the mount (threaded eyelets 1 and 3) ensures that the shock maintains sufficient clearance from the range extender even when compressed.

If the range extender/holder is mounted on threaded eyelets 2 and 4, the range extender will be too low. This causes the shock to collide with the range extender when it compresses! This can cause serious damage to both components and, in the worst case, to the frame!

After installing accessories, always check that all moving parts operate freely. Always ensure that there is no collision, even when the shock is fully compressed.

The range extender can also be installed on the size S model.
