The DT Swiss ER 1600 Spline® DB 23 road wheelset guarantees riding enjoyment, even if the track isn't suitable for Formula 1. With the ER 1600 Spline® for disc brakes, lightweight 23 mm deep aluminium rims with stable bladed aero spokes and the solid DT Spline hubs merge into a robust mixture of lightweight construction, precision and stiffness. The lower rim height compared to the ER 1600 Spline® DB 32 wheel shows the focus was a little less on aerodynamics, but more on weight reduction for more agile steering and fast acceleration. The system wheels can withstand a lot and are suitable for enduring riders who do not want to compromise during tough use on roads and field paths. Thanks to the high-quality 3D-machined DT Swiss Spline hubs with their excellent bearings and the proven ratchet freehub system, every watt of your power is transformed into propulsion and speed – along with maximum control.

With 24 mm wide tubeless-ready rims, the wheels are ideal for use with large-volume tyres and modern tubeless systems. Better puncture protection, increased comfort, lower weight and less rolling resistance are unbeatable arguments.

Technologies:
• RATCHET SYSTEM:
The Ratchet System from DT Swiss has proven itself through high reliability. This reliability is the result of the simultaneous meshing of the teeth of two high-precision star ratchets, which distributes the forces evenly over a large contact area. With the DT Swiss Ratchet System, two conical springs ensure the correct alignment of the ratchets. The degree engagement depends on the number of teeth. The no-tool concept allows easy maintenance and tool-free conversion to common axle and freehub body standards.

• TUBELESS:
All DT Swiss wheels are tubeless ready. The profiles of the DT Swiss rims are specially designed for tubeless use. The rim profile makes it easier to fit the right tyre and ensures a perfect fit. The tubeless system of the rim consists of DT Swiss Tubeless Ready Tape for sealing and a DT Swiss tubeless valve in a length that complies with the rim. When using tubeless ready tyres, it is mandatory to use a compatible sealant. However, it is also possible to use a conventional combination of tyre and inner tube.

• BEARINGS:
Through years of experience, DT Swiss only uses durable cartridge bearings without bearing play adjustment. DT Swiss hubs are designed to have the optimum axial and radial bearing play when they are properly installed. The correct preload of the bearings to compensate for the clamping force of the wheel mounting system is the basis for a play-free hub with minimum friction.

• PRO LOCK®:
DT Pro Lock® prevents the spoke-nipple connection from loosening. In the Pro Lock® process, a special dual component adhesive is injected into the nipple thread, allowing for extremely durable wheel builds. By threading the nipple onto the spoke the adhesive is activated and then hardens completely within a few hours. Re-truing the wheel is possible, yet it will cause a slight decrease in the adhesive power each time.
